Coffee, Coffee, Coffee!!

It is no secrete that we depend on our morning coffee.. If we are out, the both of us are grumpy and on edge until we have some, the same goes if we are out of half and half... never a good sight to realize we're out (which reminds me we NEED some 1/2 and 1/2). Carlos recently bought these toppers for our mason jars from Cuppow. They are one of the best investments that we have ever bought (if they even qualify as an investment)! I have to admit I am one lucky girl to have Carlos.

Farmers Market

Good Morning! We made a trip to our local farmers market this morning, and it has been a great Saturday morning. We bought eggs, carrots, and some radishes. Bo also got some treats, and Carlos bought some cinnamon bread. Have a great weekend, we're already enjoying ours!

Pretty

Primrose Hill Picnic

A few nights ago, I was able to buy the two butter LONDON products I have been wanting. Since I have not been able to find them in New Mexico, I was excited to see them in CA, but only to find that the color I wanted was sold out! But, thanks to Raquel she informed me of the FREE SHIPPING that Nordstrom's always offered!! Needless to say I am counting down the days until the arrive!

Welcome Home

Big change from the mid 90s I am used to in NM

Pretty center pieces for my cousins graduation party

Mine and Michelle's lunch break at the mall.

Where do I even start? This past week in California was great, my cousin Raquel graduated from high school (she will be a Wisconsin Badger next year)! I can't believe she is already going to be in college, I remember when my Nina was pregnant and when Raquel was just a baby, and now she is all grown up into a beautiful young lady.
California consisted of lazy mornings full of coffee and family, shopping trips, and good food! The weather was colder than what I was hoping for, overall it was so nice to spend time with my family.

This is what is on top of my coffee, and it was AMAZING.
We arrived Wednesday night, settled in and got a good nights rest. Thursday my mom took me to my first trip to Ikea! Being that I am  on a limited (very limited) budget I was very excited to see such affordable furniture, too bad we didn't drive. But that didn't leave me empty handed, I bought a watering can and a wine rack and both for under $18! After that it was my cousins graduation, then we had dinner with her boyfriends family. By the end of the day I was exhausted, needless to say I slept like a baby every night.
Friday, I was able to go to H&M and Zara, both were just as wonderful as I remember from Spain! I can't wait to incorporate the pieces I bought into my summer wardrobe.

Helping Raquel getting ready..

Mishy being the best photographer at graduation.
Saturday was my cousin's party, where I helped with minor detail, even though my mom and nina really did most of the prepping and cooking. I was in charge of helping Raquel and Michelle (Raquel's little sister, who is usually my partner in crime) with whatever they needed. I straightened Raquel's hair and curled Michelle's. Anything I can do to spend time with those girls makes me happy, I just love spending time with them!
All in all, I couldn't be happier to be home, Bo was happy to see me, and it was great just to hang out with Carlos. Last night we enjoyed a beer at a local brewery near our house called Marble, and tonight I am just doing laundry. Good to be back in Albuquerque!

Marble Red.
Gave myself a mani/ pedi tonight using these colors :)

Desert Sun

I love love the weather in New Mexico, the summers are my favorite (while they are Mr. Ortega's least favorite)! With the high of about 92 degrees everyday you couldn't ask for anything better in the summer! But now that I am on my way to California and the weather is not even supposed to reach 80 degrees I am thinking that I might get a little chilly.... I am sure I will be wearing cardigans and blazers throughout my stay...

I will post pictures as soon as get home :)

Laguna Hills...

...Here I come! Wednesday my mom and I are flying out to Laguna Hills to visit my family because my cousin is graduating from high school. I can't wait to go to H&M, Zara, and Ikea, three stores that we do not have here in the Land of Enchantment. I will have one day to go shopping, and my cousins know that I am looking forward to those stores in particular. Other than cleaning the house, and planning on a few dishes that I will have pre made for Carlos to eat while I am gone, I am distracted by our front room. It it the first thing that you see when you walk into our house, and it consists of everything that was in our garage from our old house. We are in need of ORGANIZATION!!!!! My first reacting is to buy storage boxes and stack them from floor to ceiling which I then want to hide behind a curtain. but I am wondering if this will really solve my problem????

IT IS MY GOAL TO ORGANIZE THAT ROOM BEFORE THE FALL SEMESTER STARTS!!! Wish me luck, and please send me any tips that you may have!!

Momentum Magazine

In an earlier post I mentioned this magazine when one of my favorite bloggers was on the cover, now there is another one of my daily reads on the cover. Elsie from A Beautiful Mess is gracing the cover. Carlos and I went to REI this morning and I was hoping to find the hard copy but it was not there, but there is an online version that you can download on to your laptop, computer, or as I did and put it on your e-reader. It looks great on my NookColor! Download it and enjoy.

Wish List

Cooperative Canvas Ankle Strap $34 Urban Outfitters

Today started at 5:30am with a walk in the park with my favorite little black schnauzer, Bo. After that Carlos, Bo and I ate breakfast at one of favorite neighborhood places, Java Joes. It was a nice start to a busy day off. I then stopped by the mall, Target, and Costco in search for some things Carlos needs for my friends wedding this weekend (he is taking the photos for her big day). This was all before my 2pm hair appointment with the great Lauren Thompson at Inspire Salon (Downtown location), where she touched up my color and styled my hair in the most adorable way possible! No wonder I go back to her time and time again!
I made pork chops for dinner with tortellini on the side, which was then followed by a nap on the couch and a glass of chocolate milk for dessert. But since my grandma called and woke me up, I have been lusting after two specific items that I want to buy asap. What do you think?

Pink

Pink is one of my favorite colors by far, and as of right now I am looking at my bike frame and forks which are the most perfect shade of light pink. I can't wait til Carlos finishes the last coat and reassembles my bike so I can take it for a ride. Carlos also mentioned that I could get a colored chain, while I haven't attempted looking around town for one, I can only imagine how exciting this could get... who knew a $35 bike from the flea market would be so fun??????
This Blue would be a great contrast against the light pink

I never even thought about colored tires, is that taking it too far????

I wonder how this would look??

Four Eyes

Brown, the color I am leaning toward...

Ever since I started wearing glasses at the age of twelve my uncle (who happens to wear glasses also) has called me four eyes. On various blogs I have seen BonLook advertise their trendy frames with great prices! I am hopefully going to get my eyes checked next week, then I am going to order a new pair of frames and lenses! Now my only decision is on what color??? There are three choices in the frame that I favor which are: Brown, Burgundy, and Black... hmmmm.... I don't know...

Black.... will it be too dark??

Burgundy.... I love how unique this color is...
